hi,

you can try reseting your bios to the default settings (load BIOS
defaults/load Setup defaults), disable power management (disable acpi),
disable boot virus detection, turn on PNP.
try installing from the second cd labeled: Solaris 8 Software 1 of 2 (it is
also bootable - choose interactive installation).
do you get an error before the reboot occurs ?
you can also check the hardware compatibility list for this solaris release
at http://docs.sun.com to see if your hardware is supported.
