Hey, Peter!
thanx for you help, but the unique solution that worked was creating a script in rc2.d that sets the hostname based on file with the a given name. so, ive created a script that sets the hostname to the name given in the file /etc/myhname, and it runs before the net start.
This is recommended for machines that get ips from a dhcp server, cos in fixed ip machines you set the hostname as you told, setting it on /etc/hostname.[device] and in /etc/hosts.

Have a nice Week(end)!!!

Hello Fernando,
In Solaris for Sparc there is command sys-unconfig, which will allow
you to set all the parameters for the system ( name, IPs, DHCP etc )
I believe there is the same command in Solaris for Intel.
Anyway:
/etc/hostname.name-of-the-interface contains name of the interface. IP
on that interface is read from /etc/hosts - it's IP coresponding to
that interface name.
The name of the system is located in /etc/nodename.

Peter

/etc/hostname.name-of-the-interface should contain the hostname.

/etc/hosts should contain the IP address and name from above.

Reboot.
