What makes you think that somebody here cares about MS-DOS.
In this case, Mike's observation is relevant. My users are editing files on the Solaris machines through an NFS connection from Windows machines. We use SunBlade 100's with SunPCI cards; our users all use these machines as Windows computers, and I thought I had set things up so that files created and edited from Windows through the SunPCI cards would show up with the correct permissions. Apparently I was wrong.
