well, i was trying something and typed `ifconfig -a -local`. Stupid,
Yes...but i did it. now that box is no longer seen on the network. does
anyone know what the -local option did. I've googled and scoured the web,
and every page that i come to does not show the meaning of -local, nor does
the ifconfig man page.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i rebooted the server. i still can not find any info on the -local flag.
