Thank you for the feedback so far ...
Just one last try:
I checked the following:
- The nsswitch.conf file on both servers is exactly the same. The parameter "hosts" has the values "file dns"
- The hosts file on both servers has exactly the same FQDN for both server A and B.
- The "domainname" is the same on both the servers.
- Both machines resolve to there respective ip-addresses as specified in the hosts file.
- I use dfstab, shareall, unsahreall and dfshares to set NFS on server B.
Maybe one thing that I did not mentioned before is that I have disabled telnet, ftp and rlogin on both servers.
I am only using SSH. I am not sure if the NFS is maybe using SSH in some way, and some setting needs to be set in the sshd_config file.
(A shot in the dark...:)).
Just to mention the scenario again:
If I use the "share -F nfs -o rw -d "Comment" /opt/logs option" ; NFS is working fine. ( Open to all )
BUT, when I use:
"share -F nfs -o rw=<client server> -d "Comment" /opt/logs" ; it gives me a "permission denied".

My guess is that your DNS/Host name for Server A does
not transalte too well. Try:
1. Putting the FQDN for the server A.
2. Ensure that nsswitch.conf on both A and B have
similar entries for hosts and that server A resolves
to the same Ip address on both.
