Look at the netmask, do netstat -nr and look at the default gateway, etc. Run snoop ...

Operating System : one is running 2.8 and another is running 2.9 After i plumb the interface and assign it a public Ip and Up the Interface.Am able to ping the interface but am not able to ping the machines on the same segment.
