Hi People, I have received 3 sunfire v440 with 4 disks each. I want to make a hardware raid (as I have done previously with proliant dl380 machines). However, the sun tech who came to install them, told me that they can do hardware raid, but that I would need *software* to accomplish it.
He mentioned some Veritas or Solstice software to do it, but I don't buy that... So, I ask the gurus on the board: is it possible to do a TRANSPARENT hardware raid, even with 2 disk (better if the 4, but 2 are enough), so I can go into the firmware/ok prompt, configure the disks, and later, install solaris, but solaris seeing just one big disk?
