hello,

you can not do this since the Ultra 10 uses Enhanced IDE Disks and the Ultra 2 uses SCSI Disks (with the 80-pin SCA2 connector). two different standards not to mention the connectors. the easiest way is to put the disk in another workstation or server that users SCSI disks with the SCA2 connectors.

greetings,

Stoyan

hello Greetings, to you all of you, especially HW people,

We have a problem:

an Ultra 2 running Solaris 9 is non-functional because of a power surge. We would like to copy the data from the HD to an Ultra 10. We thought we could just pull the HD out of the Ultra 2 and plug it into the ribbon cable of the Ultra 10. However, that won't work since the connectors are not compatible. Does anyone know if there is an adapter or something that we could put between the HD from the Ultra 2 and the connector of ribbon cable of the Ultra 10? Note that the adapter would have to supply power to the HD from the Ultra 2, since the Ultra 2 connector provided both data and power.

any suggestion? we would be very appreciate to know if you have the solution to the problem ...
