I have a sb100 running Solaris9 2/02, just did a new install from
Solaris 8, the sunpci [400MHz) drivers will not install ie complains
about a missing driver Sunpcidrv.290 (I think) . Has anyone run the old
sunpci co-processor card with Solaris 9 ? Works fine with 8.

Also it appears the pppd is broken, it "hangs up" after a while, is this
a known problem or is it me ?

Thanks for any responses

hello Donovan,

i guess that your car is SunPCi Option 1131A-64.2, 375-0095. i searched in the drivers page (http://www.sun.com/desktop/products/sunpci/sunpci_download.html) and i am afraid that the latest drivers available do not support Solaris 9.

"SunPCi 1.3 Drivers and Documentation
For users of the 400MHz SunPCi I card, the following driver updates are available:

    * SunPCi I System Requirements
          o Solaris 2.5.1, 2.6, 7 or 8 operating environment
...

The final released version of the SunPCi software for the 400MHz SunPCi I card is 1.3. This version supports Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 98SE, and Windows NT Workstation 4.0 and is a superset of previous driver versions."

as for PPP solaris 9 uses the new PPP 4.0 instead of asppp. i am not aware of known problems that will cause the daemon to hang. did you installed the Recommended Cluster Patch ?

documentations for PPP 4.0 is here: http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/816-4882/6mb2ipqa7?q=PPP+4.0&a=view

"How to Convert From asppp to Solaris PPP 4.0".
