Greetins, I used to run Solaris 10_b72 on my Ultra10 and it didn't have any problems. I've just done a fresh install of official Solaris 10 release and for some reason networking is totally screwed.

To give a few examples:

1) I enabled routing and it does not route full stop
2) If I ping this machine I get no replies, but after about 40 seconds replies start coming back
3) There is no such delay if I ssh to this machine, it establishes connection almost immediately

Has anyone noticed anything like this? Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks

Well, after many hours of fiddling about I discovered the problem!

ipfilter was not automatically enabled, it had to be manually enabled by running:

svcadm enable -r network/ipfilter

I had old Solaris 10 documentation files. For Solaris 10_b72 documentation states that to enable ipfilter one had to create config files in /etc/ipf and reboot. For Solaris 10 release, one needs to enable it manually via svcadm.
