Go back to basics and verify that your ~/.rhosts and/or /etc/hosts.equiv are
correct.

~/.rhosts must have the hostname per line and the hostname must be defined
in /etc/hosts or NIS.

/etc/hosts.equiv must have hostname(space)username per line and same apply
as above.

Try executing rsh etc and verify that these commands work.

I think all of them are the same verion. anyway there is no way to know it
isn't it? With pkginfo no rcp appears. And also no -V for version is
possible.

The last time I checked (admittedly years ago), 'which' uses a built-in

path, rather than your own.  Might want to check to see if there's another
rcp
