> I would very much appreciate some guidance on what to do with the .iso files that I have downloaded, e.g., how to install the OS (it is the Intel version). Most CD burning software (such as Nero) include a feature called "burn an image" which simply copies the bytes of the target file onto a CD (as opposed to copying the file onto a file system which it constructs on the CD). So, basically, you want to create one CD for each of the ISO files. (Nero has to be coaxed a bit, because by default it looks for a different type of file than an ISO when you select "burn an image.") When you're finished, you should have as a minimum (somebody correct me here; I'm working from memory) an Installation CD, a Software volume 1, a Software volume 2, and perhaps a Language CD. With any luck, you can pop in the Installation CD and reboot, and the right things will begin to happen to install Solaris. You will have to answer some questions along the way, however. If the Installation CD doesn't work well in your case, it's possible (but a little more complicated) to install from the Software 1 disk. Try it and get back to us. Good luck!
