Adding RAM really depends on the hardware. Check the specs to see what kind of RAM it takes, check your current machine to see what RAM it has, determine what you can buy to get where you want to be, get the RAM and plan some downtime to install it into the proper slots, test it to make sure it works right (SUNvts helps here).


For swap, read the swap and mkfile manpages. Either use a whole disk slice or volume, or create a file to swap to and add that slice/file using swap(1M) and add it to /etc/vfstab.
