you are correct - you mentioned that you installed the package first in
the non-global zone.
when you install the package first in the non-global zone (as non-global
zone root user) and later you install the package in the global zone
(with pkgadd -G ..) doing a "pkgrm" in the global zone removes the
package in the global zone only.
if you initially install the package from the global zone (with pkgadd
-d <packagename>) the package gets installed in the global zone and all
non-global zones... doing "pkgrm" in this situation removes the package
in global and all non-global zones.
this does not answer your question... maybe someone else could help.
