Hi,
I hope I got to the correct mailing list.
1) Can anyone point me to Java class that will investigate Solaris PKG
file (DataStream) and return the package attributes (the same as pkginfo
utility)?
hi Avi,
there is a simple java utility called solview (written by Peter
Tribble). it shows package information, dependencies/dependants,
clusters and files (not using pkginfo) + lots of other things.
i know this is not exactly what you are looking for but you may contact
Peter for additional information.
you may obtain the utility from here:

Stoyan
2) Another option - is there any common tool (like gzip) that can be
activated from any Unix/Windows host to "open" Solaris DataStream pkg
files?
3) Another option - can anyone point me to a document describing the
Solaris pkg file (DataStream format) internal structure?
