Hi again!
Anybody with an idea?
Hi!
We're installing a new Solaris server and lots of config files
on the old one refer to the old interface names. Is there a way
to change the interface name in Solaris? > nameif is available
in other OS'es, but not in this one.
All help is appreciated!

hi Frederik,
the interface name is in fact the name of the hardware driver. please
check the link below as it discusses the same question:
http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5234434&tstart=0
note the last post giving a link to a blog entry that discusses the
integration of "Nemo unification and vanity naming" part of project
Clearview in opensolaris (build 83).
you can use: dladm rename-link iprb0 eth0
really great stuff coming from the clearview team - check it out.
if this is a production system i would recommend to go on and change the
configuration files and use the correct interface name.
greetings,
Stoyan
