I know, if you can see the individual file system, you can mount vfat with mount -F pcfs, but I'm not sure, without some research, how to pull your partitions off the USB drive. I would guess there is a disk header that needs to be read, and rmformat doesn't seem to be getting it properly. I would also do a pkginfo | grep SUNWlibusb to make sure the USB drivers and headers are fully installed. There are 2 libusb packages and I believe that you need them both.

Yes, I've tried using '/dev/dsk' and '/dev/rdsk' with same result :( > However, I don't think you'll get what you want because it doesn't > look like Solaris is seeing the partitions at all. It's seeing the whole disk. mmmm ok So, the output of 'rmformat -l' should print all the partitions too...? Maybe Solaris doesn't like the partitioning schema I made with linux fdisk, because you're right it shows the whole disk, but I wasn't sure if this is normal or not... > > If you selected the complete os when you did the install, it should > include the packages to see vfat partitions. (or maybe it's complete+oem). Yes, I think I did a complete installation, but I'm not sure. Is there any way to see what FS are supported by the 'mount' command?¿ Thanks for you answers... > > > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto: > [email protected]] On Behalf Of Marc Campos > Sent: Friday, March 27, 2009 6:25 AM > To: Solaris-Users mailing list > Subject: [Solaris-Users] Problems mounting vfat partitions > > Hi, > > Firs of all I must say I'm new to OpenSolaris so please, be patient > with me as I came form the Linux world. > ;) > > Ok, the problem I have is mounting vfat partitions from USB disks. > > First I show you the partition table seen by the linux OS. > Is something like that: > > Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System > /dev/sdb1 1 12450 100004593+ 83 Linux > /dev/sdb2 12451 19929 60075067+ 5 Extended > /dev/sdb5 12451 15061 20972826 83 Linux > /dev/sdb6 15062 19929 39102178+ 83 Linux > > /dev/sdb1 is an ext3 partition > /dev/sdb5 is a vfat partition > /dev/sdb6 is a vfat partition > > Well, now in OpenSolaris I get: > > # rmformat -l > Looking for devices... > 1.
