You can use named pipes to send flar on the fly via ftp. Use this code as starting point mkfifo myname ftp -vn ftp.mysite.com < myname echo 'user myusername mypassword' >> myname echo 'passive' >> myname echo 'cd /stuff/test_data/' >> myname echo 'put filename.flar' >>myname
or use lftp client flarcreate.. | lftp -u user, passwd domain.tld -e "put /dev/stdin -o filename.flar; quit" Regards: Romeo Ninov -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of hadi motamedi Sent: Monday, April 26, 2010 7:15 AM To: Solaris-Users mailing list Subject: Re: [Solaris-Users] How to make image from HDD? DO you really need SPARC based Solaris > or you can do your work with x86 Solaris? > > Regards: Romeo Ninov > > > Thank you very much for your reply. Please be informed that I seriously need Sparc based Solaris , as the other applications codes can just be run on Sparc platform (not on x86 platform) . On my virtual Sparc , it just comes on ok> prompt . Can you please let me know if I can get the result of 'flarcreate' archived image by ftp and then put it as virtual hard drive for my virtual Sparc? If so , then I can add the option '-hda inst_x86' to qemu-system-sparc to make that archived image (inst_x86) as its virtual hard drive and then issue ok>boot . _______________________________________________ Solaris-Users mailing list [email protected] http://www.filibeto.org/mailman/listinfo/solaris-users __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 5060 (20100426) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 5060 (20100426) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com _______________________________________________ Solaris-Users mailing list [email protected] http://www.filibeto.org/mailman/listinfo/solaris-users
