Comment #2 on issue 165 by [email protected]: What is correct folder for user
created frontpages?
http://code.google.com/p/solfege/issues/detail?id=165
This is mostly a documentation bug, I think. But since most people won't
read the
user manual, I need to find a way to make clear where the file should be
saved. Maybe
some modification to the save file dialog. I don't know.
There is a reason I want all lesson files, front page files and media files
(WAV,
MP3, OGG) stored below the same directory. I have an idea of making it
possible to
distribute exercises in zip files that is unzipped in ~/.solfege/exercises,
for
example home work for students. Or making exercises available on web
servers. And a
strict structure make this simpler and more maintainable. Since python is a
interpreted language should even be possible to write extension packs with
exercise
modules written in python, and have everything stored together in a
directory, easily
distributable.
Also, the lesson files REALLY should be saved in the same directory, or in a
subdirectory below where the front page file is saved, because this way the
file name
to the lesson files will be save with relative path, for example
"lesson-files/chord-min-major" and not
"/home/tom/.solfege/exercises/myfiles/lesson-files/chord-min-major"
