Greetings,

I'm running a Mac PowerBook G4 with OS X 10.4, and trying to use fink to install solfege. It always quits with the error: Can't resolve dependency "qtplay" for package "solfege-3.14.10-1" (no matching packages/versions found)
Exiting with failure.

I do have qtplay installed, so I don't know what the problem is. It may be that the actual package name of qtplay is qtplay104:
fink list qtplay
Information about 9930 packages read in 2 seconds.
i qtplay104 1.3.1-3 Utility to play music files with QuickTime

I've tried a few other ways of installing Solfege: apt-get says it can't find a package named solfege. I downloaded the tar file, unpacked it, and after setting PKG_CONFIG_PATH to /sw/lib/pkgconfig, it died when python couldn't import gobject. This is probably because it's not available in my default installed version of python, which is 2.6. It is available in my 2.5 version, but I don't know how to indicate that a different version of python should be used. In any case, it's probably best that I install
using fink, if I can.

So: can you help me out? Is there something I can do to make the fink installation of solfege recognize the installed qtplay? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Regards,

Frank Huddleston
