New issue 201 by radhermit: solfege-3.18.1 crashes when setting up a new
config

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Remove the old solfege config files.
2. Run solfege.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Solfege should start up normally, but instead it crashes with the following
error:

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I'm using solfege-3.18.1 on Linux.
