Until now all is right, Tom. Many thanks for your GNU work. ;-)

Yes, it is. If you play the rules.

But you can already do this if you change the rules of the game.

I agree about this. It seems more modular and flexible.

I'm not at all a dev and I wasn't working with python but only with my
little knowledge of gvim. As a matter of fact I began each file with the
4 voices implemented. Then I was copying 8 times the same question and
deleting the useless voices for each question. Your idea is very good
but IMHO don't be bored with a script change to avoid to manually edit
the files. If I understand your purpose very well the 4 voices already
are written at the end of the file. It won't be a huge problem to update
my files to fit your idea, I think. But I don't agree at all with the
display of music on two staves. It's not a right way for a dictation or
a chorus display. For instance think of a chorus of Claude Le Jeune,
Gesualdo or whatever, if the voices intersect each other, and even
worse, between two staves of a system, what a nightmare.
On the other hand may be a feature about the display of a clef in
accordance with the user wishes wouldn't be out of interest.

My 2 cents.
All the best.
Phil.
