Yes, I'm using a distro build of lilypond:

http://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/community.git/tree/trunk/PKGBUILD?h=packages/lilypond

Apparently this happens almost randomly. Out of 4 times there is 1 success.  
I found a similar bug report which confirms this randomness:

https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/25106

So lilypond upstream probably knows what's up, unless you're trying with  
the same lilypond version (2.14.2) on i686/586/386 and it's working, which  
would only mean the problem is in our lilypond.
