With all this talk about plugins, registries etc., /me can't help thinking that this would be a good time to introduce the Spring IoC container to manage this stuff. More info at http://www.springframework.org/docs/reference/beans.html for people who are not familiar with it. It's very easy to use for simple cases like the ones we're talking about. -Bertrand
