There is a patch LUCENE-1304 for SortComparatorSourceUncacheable, which hasn't
had any TLC in a while
It's been associated with LUCENE-1483 which looks like a major change that
could take a while to get in.
I'd like to see if we can get movement on LUCENE-1304 as it would help with
some of the scope madness I've had to deal
with, and resolve the issue once and for all.
