The LocalSolrQueryComponent and the CollapseComponent are both doing a search,
that is why there are two result sets.
I think if you want field collapsing and local search you cannot use the
version of localsolr that you are currently using, but you can use the latest
local solr patch (SOLR-773). The latest patch does local search in a different
manner, the DistanceCalculatingComponent (LocalSolrQueryComponent is removed)
self does not do a search, but it adds a filter query (based on the lat, long
and radius) to the normal search, that is then executed in the collapse
component, so it should work in the way you expect it.
