incremental patch (against trunk) that i wrote on the plane a few days ago...
refactors the pf logic and adds comments: pf is restored to it's original
meaning in dismax, pf3 does what it did in edismax, and pf2 is added to do what
edismax was previously doing with pf.
clear as mud right? ... fortunately the code is much cleaner then the
explanation.
