Yep but we hire these god damn boxes and then my friend memory costs per month = not cheap in long term. Something like 50$ / month for 2G more.
I might be an ultra geek when it comes to Linux and programming but I'm not an ultra-geek building servers from scratch. But I will straighten up and buy me a box something like this: 6-8G RAM 2 quad core ~ 2.5 MHz 4 146G scsi - RAID10'd disks to be used as database server and I will put everything together. This will be a good exercise for replacing all our hired servers to bought ones.
