Still not enough info.

Please show:
1> the field type (not field, but field type showing the analyzers for the
field you're interested in).
2> example data you've indexed
3> the query you submit
4> the response from the query (especially with &debugQuery=on appended to
the query).

Otherwise, it's really hard to guess what's going on.
