The question you meant to ask is: "Does MoreLikeThis support Distributed Search?" and the answer apparently is no. This is the issue to get it working:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-788 ("Distributed Search" is independent of SolrCloud.) If you want to make unit tests, that would really help- they won't work now but they will make it easier for someone to get the patch working again. Also, the patch will not get committed without unit tests.
