Well it appears that the 100 is enough to meet current demand, what do your
future projections look like? Is your company intending on any expansion in
the next 24-36 months? How about in-house website hosting, e-commerce, etc?

I also go for one size larger than I truly need when planning an upgrade,
it's expensive but worth every penny when my boss drops a bombshell on me
and I can look him in the eye's and say "No problem, we can do that."! :)

Subject: [SonicWALL]- Buy a new Pro 100 or Pro 200?

Group,

We will replace an old SonicWall Pro with a 100 or a 200. It looks like the
differences are:
1. Processor (Pro100 133 MHz) (Pro200 233 MHz).
2. Current Connections (Pro100 6,000) (Pro200 30,000).
3. Performance (Pro100 75Mbps) (Pro200 190Mbps)
We will be on ADSL at 1044 Kbps.
4. 3DES performance (Pro100 20Mbps) (Pro200 25Mbps)
Still more than the "wire speed".
5. VPN Tunnels (Pro100 50) (Pro200 500)
We have 10 VPN licenses (one in use, the other nine are not implemented).
6. Do you get one VPN license with the Pro200 (the old Pro came with one)?

Other issues:
1. I don't remember what our "concurrent connections" limit was with our old
SW Pro (3000 - or maybe 6000), we never ran out of connections.
2. The SW Pro had an Intel StrongArm 233 processor, the Pro 100 has an intel
StrongArm 133 processor.
3. We are what I would term "light VPN use".
4. We have a mail server on the DMZ port.
5. We have about 90+ clients on the LAN accessing the internet (although
only about 20 at a time are every on).

It looks like the Pro 100 meets our requirements. Do you see any reason to
go to the Pro 200? Am I asking for it if we buy a 100?

Thanks in advance,
DL Meade
