You're going to have a very tough time blocking an IM client with just the Sonicwall. What you really need is a content filter or NIDS that does stateful inspection. One of the things about MSN Messenger, is that if it finds it can't communicate with the server on its default port(s), it'll automatically go to another one until it finds a way to connect.
