Hi All,

I have a client who recently changed  ISP. They have a Dlink DSL-300 DSL modem and a Sonicwall SOHO3 (firmware 6.3.1.4).
I can't establish a PPPoE connection to the new ISP, however experienced no problems with the previous ISP.
(therefore I'm confident that the hardware can work together properly in the way it is currently configured)
The New ISP suggests that the problem maybe the way Sonicwall tries to establish it's PPPoE connection.
Sonicwall gave me some message about changing the MTU setting on the sonicwall and client computers (???)

I tried re-setting and re-configuring the Sonicwall from scratch without any success connecting.

I tested using the DSL-300 with a PPPoE client on a laptop and had no problems connecting(without the sonicwall).
The errors in the Sonicwall log are something like "PPPoE LCP Link Down" and "Failed to establish PPPoE session".

The new ISP recommends using PPPoA, but also supports PPPoE. I can't see any option for PPPoA in the Sonicwall, are there any plans for this to be included in future firmware releases?

I have also tried using a DSL-500 (which makes the connection itself instead of bridging to the Sonicwall), then I had problems with VPN, but that is a whole different set of problems.

Is there something unusual or different about the way Sonicwall tries to create a PPPoE session?
Are there any connection settings that I might need to configure or change?

Regards
