I am having problems with Ameritech and PPPoE. (Wow, what a shock.) (Oh, and I hate PPPoE.)
Ameritech provided Netopia Cayman 3572 in full bridge mode. (I had to put it into bridge mode by getting downloading and reading the manual and telling the commands to the client over the phone on a Saturday morning because the Ameritech Tech had configured it in dynamic NAT router mode because he did not read the work order.) Sonicwall SOHO3/10 firmware 6.3.1.4 8 port 10/100 switch workstations When a workstation is connected directly to the Netopia router, Internet access is normal. When the Sonicwall is attached to the Netopia router, the VPN connection is fine but normal Internet browsing is horrible or times out. I am sure it is a case of MTU sizes and other tweaks needed on the Sonicwall. Any suggestions on which tweaks to do? John Tolmachoff MCSE, CSSA IT Manager, Network Engineer RelianceSoft, Inc.
