Title: Message
does your ADSL router have rules?

As for the VNC issue: What type of machine are your administering?
If it's Win2k, try terminal services to see whether one admin tool works but not the other. Also - try http, ping, etc. - see which protocols DO work.
Is the internal machine running BlackIce or ZoneAlarm or some other personal firewall?

Subject: [SonicWALL]- Connect to firewall over web

Hi, Question from a sonicwall newbie here.

I've got a Tele2 running behind an ADSL router.  The tele2 has it's own IP and I've set up 1-1 NAT on 2 of my internal machines to try and get VNC working.  I'm trying to do 2 things.

1.  Administer my firewall from a remote location over the internet
2.  Connect to my internal machines from a remote location over the internet.

For 1. I've set up the Management Tab as from LAN interface and remotely from WAN interface, ticked manage using IE, HTTPs Management Port is 443 and HTTPs Management Certificate common Name is the WAN IP of the sonicwall.  I can never connect - is there something else for me to do?  Do I need to open up some ports or something like that?

For 2. I've set up 1-1 NAT to my machines, installed the VNC server, set up the passwords.  I can connect with the VNC viewer from outside, but only to the point of VNC saying "initial screen loading".  It never gets past that point.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
