things to check:
1. can
the remote clients ping the Linux box? If so, try to connect to the samba share
via ip address, not name. (in which case you have a name resolution
issue.)
2.
provided you can ping from the client to the linux box, check the smb.conf.
There is an entry for "allowed networks". If it only permits the LAN segment it
is attached to , then that may be your problem.

Hi i'm new to the mailing list and for my first question i need to find out if anyone can get a vpn remote client (standard windows PC with sonicwall vpn client) to see the linux samba server??
i can get the clients to see any windows box on my network but not my linux fileserver sorry i cant attach my smb conf and i'm a little light on tech inf but i'm not at work and need this sorted ASAP
