Hi,
Does anyone know of a VPN Client for MAC which supports XAUTH?
From my investigation, I have found the following information: VPN/w/ipsec already built into MACs: Apple currently does not have a GUI configuration tool for ipsec, but you can configure it manually. This is because IPSec is a complicated specification, and there are currently some incompatibilities between some of the implementations of ipsec on the market. Apple seems to be waiting until this issue is hammered out before it implements a GUI tool for IPSec. Apple has included all the software at the command line to implement a IPSec VPN. NOTE Again: You won't be able to connect to any device that needs a username. The method used to pass a username onto an IPSec device is called "xauth" and the kame IPSec stack in Mac OS X does not support that. This rules out connectivity with some popular large-scale VPN solutions Freeware, VaporSec: VaporSec an IPSec GUI client that will allow you to create incredibly secure connections between Mac OS X 10.2 machines—or between your machine and third party firewalls using the built-in IPSec capabilities of Mac OS X 10.2. VaporSec has currently been tested between Mac OS X 10.2 machines and with a SonicWall firewall. We're actively looking for situations where this doesn't work so that we can tweak the code. We are also looking for people interested in helping us make this better. We have made some pretty good improvements with this latest version of the software. Joel has personally tested it against numerous SonicWalls and a Linksys BEFVP41.
However, none of these support XAUTH authentication which I require (the admin of our Sonicwall Pro 300 won’t change it for security reasons).
Thanks
