EU, NATO and OSCE discuss post status arrangements

(Kosovo daily newspapers)

Dailies report that the head of UNMIK Søren Jessen-Petersen is discussing with
representatives of the main international organizations on the needs Kosovo
will have
after the solution of its status. In these meetings, although there is
discussion about
the next international presence, the paper says that according to UNMIK, the
final
status of Kosovo is not prejudged. Today the SRSG is going to meet with NATO
chief Jaap
de Hoop Scheffer and the head of the EU diplomacy Javier Solana.

A special team has been set up to discuss these issues, and apart from UNMIK it
consists of European Union, NATO and OSCE. The yesterday’s informal meeting in
Vienna
chaired by Jessen-Petersen tackled issues like rule of law, good governance,
democratization, human rights, minority issues, economic and fiscal issues.

“We are making good progress with our partners in preparing for the needs that
Kosovo
will have following the settlement of status, and how the international
community will
work with the Kosovo government in order to continue to support and assist the
development of Kosovo”, said the SRSG according to a press release issued by
UNMIK,
dailies write.
