"No deadline for Mladić arrest" 1 July 2007 | 10:23 | Source: B92 *BELGRADE -- Rasim Ljajić says Carla Del Ponte was not promised that Ratko Mladić will be delivered to the Hague by the end of 2007. * National Hague Cooperation Council Chairman Rasim Ljajić said he talked Friday with representatives of the Tribunal on Chief Hague Prosecutor Carla Del Ponte’s statement <http://www.b92.net/eng/news/society-article.php?yyyy=2007&mm=06&dd=30&nav_category=113&nav_id=42130>to Moscow daily Kommersant, where she reportedly said that Serbia promised to hand over Mladić by year’s end. “The Tribunal representatives assured me that her words were not properly cited. According to them, Del Ponte actually said that she hoped that Belgrade would hand over the most wanted Hague indictee within that timeframe,” Ljajić explained. It is not possible that any member of the government could have made that promise, since it might imply that Serbian authorities know where he is,” he concluded.
