Makfax news agency, Skoplje Ex Albanian FM: Premature recognition of Kosovo - adventurous move Skopje, 22.08.2007 10:37 Premature recognition of Kosovo by Albania before US and EU countries take such a step would be equal to an adventure, said Paskal Milo, former foreign minister and current member of the Albanian parliament's commission for foreign policy. In his reaction to the incumbent foreign minister Lulzim Basha's statement that Albania would set out a new course of developments if the final round of the negotiations on the Kosovo status falls through, Milo said that "embarking upon unilateral recognition of independence without prior recognition of US and some EU countries sounds quite adventurous to me". According to him, it would be wise now to work out stances that may serve to the benefit of the Kosovo's future and securing of broad support to the independence. The project of unilateral recognition of independent Kosovo is being discussed in the Albanian diplomatic circles, however, the country should not be the first to take such a step, said Paskal Milo, who held the post of foreign minister when Socialists held power in Albania.
