Kosovo Albanians are Preparing a New Wave of Terror Against Serbs

With the approach of December 10, 2007, when a regular (as Albanians believe,
the final) round of talks between Pristina and Belgrade is to take place is
getting nearer, the situation in Kosovo is getting hotter and hotter.
The leaders of the province are about to declare independence, waiting for just
a signal from Washington and West European capitals, whereas the West, in turn,
facing the position of Moscow, recommends that Albanians took their time and
wait. But the Albanians’ patience is getting worn out, and they are beginning
to show their last trumpet cards, trying to put pressure to bear upon the
representatives of all international organisations now operating in Kosovo.

The Serbian Security Forces have disclosed a plan of the Albanian militants in
line with which the intended to use arms to bring the day of Kosovo
independence declaring closer. While the peace-keepers and NATO troops did what
they did to make life in Kosovo peaceful, the militants were creating their
army and devised plans of military operations and prepared to take control of
the entire territory of the province. Now this military formation has openly
declared it is the Albanian National Army (ANA).

ANA began to be formed as early as 2001, and in 2003 the UN declared it a
terrorist organisation. In late October of 2007. ANA commanders held a meeting
that planned to finally “solve the issue” of North Mitrovica, where there still
lived Serbs. According to Albanian plans the northern extremities of Kosovska
Mitrovica was to be razed to the ground, and should KFOR troops become an
obstacle, they should be destroyed. The planned act was to frighten Serbs
living in other enclaves that would leave their homes and would run for their
lives. The preparations for this operation are quite serious. The militants
visit the homes of Albanians distributing

Arms and military uniforms. According to some Serbian estimates, up to 80,000
armed Albanians can be counted on at present. (In 1998 when Albanians
controlled 40% of the Kosovo territory, that number was 30,000). The ANA
detachments quite openly try to control the frontier on Serbia, explaining that
by their intention to prevent the Serbian troops from invading Kosovo; they
control main roads in Kosovo and Macedonia. This, they believe, should be a
form of putting pressure to bear upon international forces at the final stage
of “the fight for independence.”

Should they fail to launch the attack, the entire province would be swept with
manifestations turning into disorders and violence over the Serbs that would
still be present in Kosovo. But before that the whole world had to see that
Kosovo is quite ready to exist as an independent entity.
The farcical 17 November, 2007 elections in Kosovo and Metohia were to be the
demonstration of the province’s self-sustainability and the stability of its
political system constructed by international organisations.

Had Serbs taken part in the polls, that would could be the ultimate proof of
the premise that the multi-national population of the province was quite ready
to separate itself from Serbia.
At least that is what representatives of international organisations are trying
to convince us of. Germany’s Joahim Rikker, Head of UN Kosovo mission, makes
cynical statements, saying that Serbs have “much good in store in future” in
Kosovo
International forces must be fully aware of the planned disorders and even
military operations in Kosovo. But, instead of getting ready to prevent them,
they are trying to use them to scare Serbs, the Serbian and Russian leaders, as
well as all those who stand against independent Kosovo and Metohia, in other
word, against further dismembering of the Serbian state.
