Rogozin requested special NATO-Russia meeting on Kosmet <http://glassrbije.org/E/index2.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3047&pop=1&page=0&Itemid=26> June 3, 2008 Russian Ambassador with NATO Dmitrij Rogozin requested a special meeting of the NATO Council-Russia to be held end June or beginning July explaining that Moscow fears from violence which would be provoked in Kosmet with the aim for the UN mission to be replaced by the EU mission. It is totally unacceptable for us, as we believe that the UN should remain in Kosmet, Rogozin told the Tanjug news agency in Brussels. He stated that it is absolutely clear that the Serbs in Kosmet are not interested in the UN leaving the Province and that it is obvious that they would not cause violence. After the conference in Brussels attended by NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hop Scheffer as well, Rogozin severely criticized NATO plans to train future "security forces" of Kosmet. These activities are in accordance with the Ahtisaari’s plan that does not correspond to UN Resolution 1244, and therefore, they are not in accordance with the international law, Rogozin warned.
