Foiled break-in at Thaci's home 7 June 2008 | 12:05 | Source: Tanjug PRIŠTINA -- An unknown individual has attempted to break into the house of Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, leading to an exchange of fire with security guards, say the KPS. The attempted break-in in the Priština suburb of Dragodan took place last night at about 23:15 CET, say the Kosovo Police Service (KPS), adding that an exchange of fire followed between Thaci’s security guards and at least one attacker who was spotted on the house’s second-floor balcony. “After warnings from security guards, shooting broke out, and the attacker fled the scene. A preliminary police investigation indicates that one of the suspects was wounded during the exchange of fire,” say the KPS. Thaci was at home during the attack, it is reported, while none of the members of his family who were in the house at the time were injured. A police investigation is under way, and Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuqi has called an emergency press conference in Priština following the attack.
