The International Radio Serbia Mitrovic: unknown fate of 1,820 missing Serbs in Bosnia-Herzegovina 16. September 2008. President of the Organization of Families of Imprisoned and Killed Soldiers and Missing Civilians of Republika Srpska Nedeljko Mitrovic warned that the fate of 1,820 Serbs, which have been registered as missing for 13 years, would be difficult to establish due to obstruction in the work of the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia-Herzegovina. We have data that there are several hundred mass graves in the territory of the Muslim-Croatian Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, with posthumous remains of Serbs, but the Institute has not done anything regarding the exhumation and identification of bodies, said Mitrovic. He underlined that he had addressed the Bosnia-Herzegovina Prosecution, but that it has not done anything. Mitrovic asked that the Republika Srpska government reactivates the work of the Commission for Missing Persons which in the previous period had fund and identified over 3,400 bodies of missing Serbs, and which was closed eight months ago with the founding of the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
