SERBIA’S ESSENTIAL PROGRESS, YET COOPERATION IS INCOMPLETE
26 November 2008 14:23
Hague Tribunal Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz assessed in the report to be
submitted to the UN that in the second half of this year Serbia achieved
essential progress in cooperation with the Chief Prosecutor’s office, Novi Sad
daily DNEVNIK writes. In his report, Brammertz did not write that Serbia is
fully cooperating with the Tribunal and without that EU member-states cannot
make a decision on the continuation of Serbia’s integration in the EU. In his
report, which has been the most affirmative one since Tribunal spokespersons
started submitting reports in the UN, Brammertz wrote that during his latest
visit to Belgrade, on November 17 and 18, he was shown operational plans for
the arrest of the two Hague fugitives, Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic, DNEVNIK
writes. Brammetrz also pointed out that the agencies in charge of the
persecution of the indictees have increased their activity.
