Karadzic trial to start on October 26 Posted on : 2009-10-15 | Author : dpa The Hague - The trial of former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic is to start on October 26, the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia said Thursday. Karadzic, 64, has been been indicted at The Hague-based tribunal on 11 counts of war crimes, crimes against humanity, including two counts of genocide, during the 1992-1995 Bosnian war. Alongside Ratko Mladic, the Serb military chief during the war, he is held responsible for crimes including the Srebrenica massacre and the 1992-1995 siege of Sarajevo. Karadzic has denied all charges. The former Bosnian Serb leader spent 13 years on the run before his arrest in July 2008.
