From my "outsider" perspective, I think the suggested move makes sense.However, I hope one outcome would be the addition of a common mailing list. I'm often just guessing if questions etc about the graphics libraries should go to 2d or awt. It would be helpful if there was a "single point of entry" for all those client-related questions/code reviews/etc.
