I don't think we want a single all-encompassing tool for this. At least that is my opinion, and the general direction to which many things have gradually moved. Sensors are already handled by envsys(4), processor power management should be handled by cpuctl(8), display brightness etc. should be handled by wsconsctl(8), and so forth. This should also make portability a little bit easier than a monolithic piece such as APM. - Jukka.
