i had the j2sdk version 1.4.2 installed, but it was the netbeans installation. as soon as you said that i realized i had had problems with this package before. so i installed the vanilla version and all is well. is there some global parameter i need to change somewhere so java apps know where to look for the jre/sdk?

hello. i'm running windows xp on a celeron 650 with 384 mb ram. i can run sourcejammer version 2.1.0.0 just fine, but the server i need to connect to is an older version. so i installed v2.0.2.2 (i tried both ways -- via the installer and just from the zip file). now when i start it up, i get the SJ cat splash screen, but it stays right there till i end the process. it just sits using up about 10mb of ram, never says it's stopped responding, and shuts down right away when i force it to. i've let it sit over night with no change, except ram used drops to about 6 megs. i have to use this older version for now. any ideas?
