This sounds like it might have something to do with the way your server or firewall or something like that is configured. Are you trying to use SSH tunneling? Or is port 8080 supposed to simply be wide open on your server? I'm pretty much at a loss. Is there anything more you can tell me abou the way your server is configured and how you're trying to access it?
Could something else be using prot 8080? Can you hit http://db-srv:8080/sourcejammer with a web browser? Are you really just trying to hit http://db-srv:8080 with your sourcejammer client?
